This Is Boylesque

‘Boylesque‘, an offshoot of the female-centric burlesque, challenges traditional ideas of masculinity. Like burlesque, it plays on exaggeration, striptease and dance. Boylesque is growing in popularity across North America and Europe, with festivals being held internationally. Dante Legend is a boylesque performer in Toronto, Canada.

Building Oasis

The story of a young man fulfilling a childhood dream as he moves into adulthood, trying to find the balance between two contrasting lifestyles.

Two years ago, Ryan Deska (29) began building a cabin south of the Bruce Peninsula near Wiarton, Ont. It is still a work in progress, with each undertaking providing a new trial, a learning opportunity, and a reason to escape from his life in the city for a while. As he moves into adulthood, the cabin acts as a canvas to reflect on who he is as a social being, an environmentalist, and a dreamer.

This short film was the recipient of NPOY Emerging Videographer of Canada Award, and selected for North Bay Film Festival.

Steph shares is passion of cycling through a weekly event he has organized with New Ontario Brewery called "Bikes and Brews".

The FARM takes a unique approach to retail, is community-driven and a proud supporter of the arts community in North Bay.

Hollie, like all other girls in her community, has some big decisions ahead of her. And the new responsibilities in her approaching adulthood are symbolized by the making of her first dress. This rite of passage for a young Mennonite girl is recounted by Hollie's mother Deborah, whose own mother helped her cut and sew her first dress at 15, as she describes their community’s traditions of dressmaking.Through the story of Hollie's first dress, we see a Mennonite mother passing family values and community traditions to her daughter that will shape the decisions she must make in her future. Will she choose to be a wife and mother and remain in the community or forge her own path?
