CBC Radio features Working Women story

On June 10, 2020 CBC Radio One reached out to interview me on my exclusive story “The Working Women of Newfoundland”, shot on assignment for True North Photo Journal.

Ted Blades of CBC’s “On the Go” wanted to know more about the process of finding the 21 women who participated in the photo essay, the importance of telling this story, and the role of a documentary photographer.

I invited Joann Greeley and Tammy Snook, two of the women I met and photographed during my ten days on the island, to share their experiences of discrimination in the workforce and to discuss the ways that women are pushing to decrease the gender wage gap in Newfoundland, which currently sits at 70 cents per every dollar a man makes.
